Client: Groovy Sound Productions
Industry: Wedding & Event DJ Services
Project Goal: Clean up an overbuilt SEO-heavy website and redesign it to connect with real people—specifically, brides.
The Problem: A Website Built for Robots, Not Humans
Groovy Sound Productions advertises on The Knot, one of the most competitive platforms in the wedding industry. Brides often send inquiries to ten or more DJs in one sitting, and whoever responds quickly—and looks the most polished—has the edge. That meant the old, clunky site wasn’t just outdated; it was costing the client leads. We had to create a site that captured attention instantly, made a strong first impression, and made it effortless to inquire—because in this space, if you don’t hook them fast, they’re gone.
Groovy Sound Productions had a website built by an SEO agency. On paper, it checked every box an algorithm could love:
- Dozens of keyword-stuffed pages
- A bloated, overwhelming menu
- Paragraphs that read like they were written for Google, not actual people
The result? A site that buried its best content under layers of SEO jargon and made it hard for real users—especially brides—to find what they needed.
It made sense at first blush to have an SEO agency build the website—visibility is everything when you’re competing in a crowded market like wedding entertainment. But ranking high in search results only gets you so far if the site doesn’t connect with actual people. That’s where things started to break down.
Many SEO companies offer web design as part of their package, but the results often prioritize search performance over user experience and visual appeal. Our approach balances SEO with thoughtful design, creating websites that not only rank well but also feel polished, easy to use, and built for real people.
The Fix: Clean, Clear, and Bride-Focused
We stepped in to rebuild the site with a single goal: appeal to the people who actually book DJs.
Here’s what we changed:
- Visual Overhaul: We gave the site a modern, elegant redesign that resonates with brides. Clean lines, soft tones, and visuals that feel like a wedding, not a tech conference.
- Streamlined Navigation: We kept many of the original SEO pages (for ranking purposes), but removed them from the main navigation. The new menu is short, clear, and focused on what clients care about.
- Smart Structure: We organized the site to lead visitors smoothly from browsing to booking, without confusion or clutter.
- Booking Made Easy: Every page now features a fast, user-friendly booking form—no need to dig through contact pages.
The Result: SEO Power + Human Connection
The site still performs well in search—those legacy SEO pages are still there, just tucked out of the way. But now, the user experience leads the design.
Groovy Sound’s new site does what the old one couldn’t:
- Looks great
- Feels trustworthy
- Helps brides book without friction
It’s no longer just optimized for search engines—it’s optimized for humans.
